Explore the elegant decay of an above-ground cemetery. The focus of this tour is the sacred space of St. Louis #1 Cemetery, located just outside the French Quarter. Burial practices along with wall vaults, family tombs, and society tombs are explored. This site is famous for being the final resting place of Marie Laveau and scenes from the cult classic Easy Rider. This sacred space requires reverence. How the dead are treated says a lot about who you are as a people. Learn about our culture in this 1 hour long tour that brings to life the legacy of those long gone.
Please provide your cell phone number so we can contact you in the event there is a change to tour information. Please provide your home or work phone if you do not have a cell. A valid email address that is retrievable while in New Orleans is also helpful.
Please inform us if you or anyone in your party has special needs. We’ll communicate further on details needed to accommodate.
While the streetcar line is a moving historic landmark and incredibly charming, it is the least dependable form of transportation when considering your method of getting to a tour meeting location. Our team regularly uses United Cabs, Lyft and Uber.
